What does SPF50+ mean?
Under the EU's sunscreen labelling recommendation, SPF50+ is the highest category, “very high protection”. It is used for products that measure SPF 60 or more.
Do these sunscreens protect against UVA too?
EU sunscreens should give UVA protection of at least a third of their SPF. Look for the UVA symbol in a circle on the pack.
How much should I apply?
Sun protection is tested with 2 mg per square centimetre of skin, much more than most people use. Applying too little lowers the protection you get.
Can I use a face sunscreen under make-up?
Yes. Fluids and dry-touch textures such as Anthelios UVMune 400 or Apivita Bee Sun Safe are made to sit well under make-up.
